Merry Christmas!

It is almost the end of 2010 and so I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who has supported Books for All throughout the year. The short article published in the November issue of the Canberra Weekly magazine was greatly appreciated as the more media attention the project gets the more books we get to give.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

See you in 2011!

Our 1st Birthday!

Hello!

Apologises for the lack of posting onto this blog. I have been using the Facebook group to communicate through so if you haven't joined already- please do so!

On October 21st, 2010 Books for All celebrated it's very first birthday!! It was a lovely afternoon with plently of books, laughter and home-made piklets (with jam & cream!) and choc chip muffins! It is a great acheivement to get to one year but one that could never have happened if it wasn't for the support of everyone who has donated books, provided storage space and given support and encouragment throughout the year. So, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has helped out Books for All!!

In 2011 we would love to bring some more volunteers on board who would like to volunteer a couple of hours each week or fortnight. So for more information please contact me on tamara.mcleod@hotmail.com

I'll leave you with a few photographs for our first birthday!

Thanks again, Tammy

Doing a spring clean of your wardrobe?

Hello!

I can't believe how many months it has been since I last wrote on here- very sorry. Have received many more books in these last few months which is fantastic & the clients are loving being able to choose from such a wide variety of books on a weekly basis! Thank you to everyone who has donated. Also don't forget we've got a Facebook group @

I am currently on the hunt for blankets, sleeping bags & winter clothing as it is beginning to get quite a bit cooler here in Canberra. So, if you're cleaning out your wardrobes and find you have any blankets and/or winter clothing (huge demand for men's clothing- preferably jackets/jeans etc) that you no longer want then please pop by & drop them off to me. They must be clean & be in decent condition though!
Please drop by @: The Griffin Community Centre, Genge St in Civic. I'm there every Tuesday from 4-6pm.

Many thanks lovely people,
Tammy :)
